OmniTracker Helps Netsurfer Put Organization Online

Since 1994, Netsurfer has built a wide reputation for quality software products that enhance Internet usage, helping companies and individuals get online faster, more easily and more efficiently. "Our products are designed to make the process of going online less about people’s tasks and more about technology," said Hadley Lowy, Netsurfer’s director of business development.

Behind the scenes, however, Netsurfer could have used a little of its own advice. "We really had no central organization," Lowy said. "Our production schedules consisted of sticky notes, faxes, phone calls and everyone’s personal filing systems. What we needed was a tool that would let us organize everything in one place and get out of the paper trail business."

All correspondence, time incurred and associated costs are continually tracked so project managers can always have current information on their jobs. A hierarchy of users gives administrators and project managers access to sensitive information (hourly wages, other cost issues) that workers and clients can’t see. Project summaries and other management reports can be created with the click of a mouse.

"OmniTracker has enabled us to handle a larger customer base more efficiently," Lowy said. "Without it, you might be juggling between 20 and 60 customer relationships, trying to keep track of everything by hand – which were the latest files, whose phone calls to return, which tasks were most urgent, etc. With OmniTracker, I’d say you can easily handle 75 – 90 relationships without all that worry. Everything’s always right there in front of you."

OmniTracker can be deployed from a secure web site, or installed on a company’s intranet. With only a browser necessary for access, OmniTracker is ideal for coordinating project teams, which may be spread throughout a building or across the country.

"It’s made our clients for efficient and more organized, too," Lowy said. "For as much as it’s improved management on our side, OmniTracker has advantages for our clients also. Some were a bit reluctant at first to change the way they’d always done things, but now without question they all like to use OmniTracker. The benefits are just too great."
