Project planning and design

Traditional or agile approach

In addition to technical expertise, project planning, project management, and project control are key factors in successfully delivering a project. We have implemented OMNITRACKER for several hundred customers across a wide range of industries, from midsize companies to international corporations. We can also take responsibility for project management and control. OMNINET provides an integrated tool environment that facilitates efficient information sharing and seamless collaboration with our customers.

We support you throughout the entire project. In addition to your project manager, our established Project Office serves as a central point of contact. It monitors your budget, schedules deadlines, coordinates project teams, and handles all organizational matters.

Traditional project approach

Projects follow a life cycle during which the project work is carried out. Traditional project management is typically characterized by the sequential completion of project activities, which are further divided by milestones. To reach a milestone, predefined acceptance criteria, supporting documentation, and other requirements must be met. Phases and milestones enable consistent control of the project and are important project management tools for successful delivery.

Agile project approach

At the outset of an agile project, there is often only a high-level task or overarching project objective. All agile approaches are based on working in short iterations, known as sprints, that produce interim results. At the end of each sprint, you are presented with a preliminary result and can grant partial approval or submit change requests. The project vision is defined and the requirements are captured throughout the agile project. With each sprint, the initially loosely defined ideas move closer to the finished software product.

Software-supported project execution and monitoring

The OMNITRACKER Project Management Center covers the entire project life cycle and supports initial project planning as well as project execution and monitoring throughout the project. Both traditional and agile delivery models are available. Real-time reports and dashboards provide an up-to-date overview of your resources and current project progress.

Requirements management

Turning ideas into specifications

At the beginning of the project, we work with you in a workshop to define your requirements for OMNITRACKER, transforming your ideas into individual specifications for your OMNITRACKER applications. An experienced consultant guides you through the workshop, records your requirements, and uses their expertise to provide valuable recommendations for the technical implementation.

After the workshop, we consolidate the results and systematically document them in the Requirements Management module of the OMNITRACKER Systems Engineering Center. You can access the defined requirements through the OMNITRACKER Web Client. After reviewing them, you can add comments or approve them. This transparent communication ensures that everyone shares a common understanding of the system to be developed.

Project planning

Implementation with a clear plan and structure

Successful projects depend on a well-structured implementation. We have developed a systematic process to ensure that your projects are completed successfully and on schedule. We can provide project consulting as early as the requirements documentation phase. This consulting can take place during the requirements workshop or separately for specific topics.

Our project management approach centers on a consistently structured project process that supports the execution of every project phase. This makes projects easier to compare, plan, and manage. The structure also improves traceability and helps retain the knowledge gained during the project. For managing the broader project portfolio, the structured process supports the coordinated management of projects and their interdependencies.

Customizing

Implementation tailored to your requirements

Once the system and business processes have been defined, we use OMNITRACKER to implement your requirements quickly and efficiently. Implementation can take place remotely or on-site at your premises. Our Business Process Ecosystem is modular, allowing you to expand your installation with additional OMNITRACKER applications, interfaces, or custom applications as needed. Our experienced team can advise you at any time or implement new requirements for you from start to finish.

To simplify communication, you have a dedicated contact who manages your project. This person oversees project progress on the OMNINET side and is supported by colleagues from our consulting team whenever necessary. This gives you a direct line of communication while providing access to the combined expertise of the entire OMNINET consulting team.

Go-live

Testing and integration

Launching a new software solution is a major challenge for any company. We therefore recommend having your employees thoroughly test your individually configured OMNITRACKER system to ensure that it runs smoothly with all customizations. After this previously agreed testing phase, your OMNITRACKER installation should be transferred to the production system. If required, we can also support you during commissioning and assist with any questions or change requests.

Your employees should receive training no later than after go-live. We offer role-specific training courses covering a wide range of OMNITRACKER topics. Depending on the course, our training for end users and administrators is suitable for both beginners and experts.

Operations

Operational support

OMNINET can assume full or partial responsibility for operating your OMNITRACKER applications on your infrastructure. This allows you to focus on your core business while knowing that your OMNITRACKER applications are running securely and reliably.
