Moscow, June 4, 2019 – “OMNINET Software Solutions” has officially joined the Initiative for a Common Economic Space from Lisbon to Vladivostok. Companies and business associations from Europe and the Eurasian region are among the supporters. The initiative promotes stronger cooperation between the European Union (EU) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

As part of the official inauguration of the new headquarters of the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce in Moscow, “OMNINET Software Solutions” has signed the Memorandum for a Common Economic Space from Lisbon to Vladivostok. Michael Dobner, CEO of “OMNINET Software Solutions” OOO, the Co-Chairman of the Initiative Ulf Schneider, Managing Partner of SCHNEIDER GROUP, and Matthias Schepp, Chairman of the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce, stressed the importance of economic and political cooperation between East and West during the signing ceremony. Schepp: "More and more companies have now joined the initiative. Our surveys show that the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is becoming increasingly important for German companies operating in Russia and the other four EAEU member states. We have therefore initiated a dialogue on technical standards between Germany and Russia and between the EAWU and the EU under the umbrella of the Chamber”.

With “OMNINET Software Solutions”, more than 60 companies and business associations have now joined the Lisbon-Vladivostok initiative. Dobner: "OMNINET Software Solutions is represented in Europe and the CIS states with numerous subsidiaries. Our company can only benefit from closer cooperation between the EU and the Eurasian Economic Union. That's why we are supporting the initiative."

Since 2015, the initiative has called for an open-ended, official dialogue between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union. A working group meets several times a year with the participation of political and economic decision makers. The main topics are customs issues, technical regulations and standards, logistics and infrastructure, as well as mobility and visa regimes. Founding member of the initiative Ulf Schneider: "We focus on dialogue and concrete topics for economic cooperation. Both sides can benefit practically from a common economic area from Lisbon to Vladivostok".

In the coalition agreement, the German government emphasizes the vision of a common economic space from Lisbon to Vladivostok. Among the founding members are the German-Russian Forum, the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce, and the Eastern Committee of the German Eastern Business Association. Companies such as Siemens, Allianz, and Bosch are among the initial signatories. In 2019, the initiative will be expanded to include companies and associations from Italy, France, Austria, and Kazakhstan.
