OMNITRACKER version 13.1.0 has been officially released and is available for download. 

The new OMNITRACKER version represents a major step forward for the Web Gateway: additional important functions from the Windows end user client are now also available on the web. In addition, many requests and insights from customer projects in the area of the Web Gateway and other areas of the OMNITRACKER platform have been implemented.

The result is a clearer, more intuitive user interface—and greater flexibility for administrators to tailor the work environment to different user groups and provide key functions. This makes the web client even more of a central tool for daily work.

Translations directly in the web form—fast, secure, context-sensitive

With the new “Translation Sidebar Dialogue” in the OMNITRACKER Web Gateway, defined users without admin rights can translate multilingual fields of an object, such as a knowledge base article, directly in the form—without detours and with clear authorization rules.

  • Easy to activate: Admins link the “Translate” action to buttons.
  • Sidebar instead of pop-up: Translations are conveniently edited in the sidebar of the form—the context remains visible.
  • Permissions included: Only visible fields and unlocked languages are displayed; read-only fields are deactivated, editable fields can be changed immediately.
  • Fast navigation: Forward/back buttons, counters (e.g., 3/10) and optional auto-focus jump directly to the appropriate field in the form.

Find recent processes and actions faster—with “Recently Used Objects”

OMNITRACKER Web Gateway makes productive work even easier: With “Recently Used Objects”, users can find their most recently edited objects in seconds—without having to search again. This new feature reduces search effort, speeds up workflows and ensures a noticeably more efficient user experience in the OMNITRACKER Web Gateway.

  • Intuitive navigation: preview of the last 15 objects, sorted by recency (optional access to all objects)
  • Fully administrable: rule-based activation and visibility per user group
  • Flexibly accessible: view the complete list via the preview, shortcut bar, icon bar or as a separate dashboard widget
  • Always up to date: Objects that are no longer legally accessible automatically disappear from the list.

Enhanced Kanban view in OMNITRACKER

With the enhanced Kanban view, users benefit from a better overview, improved control and more intuitive operation for every use case.

  • Flexible card sizes thanks to optional “Compact mode” for space-saving boards
  • Enhanced visualizations for better highlighting of important information
  • Object-based columns for flexible configuration of Kanban process control
  • WIP (work in progress) limits for transparent control of the workload
  • Individually customizable column widths
  • More flexible swimlanes with adjustable height and hide function

More flexibility and overview in the web client

With the new undock function, users can customize their work interface and place content exactly where it is needed—even on multiple screens simultaneously.

  • Undock panes easily using the standard browser function and rearrange them in any browser tabs
  • Work in parallel with folders, forms, dashboards and lists
  • Ideal for multimonitor workstations
  • Fewer context switches, more focus and productivity
  • Keep an eye on dashboards and tasks at all times

Improved full-text search

OMNITRACKER makes full-text search more flexible and significantly easier to administer: Admins can now define the default search logic centrally and on a folder basis, allowing them to specifically control the search experience for different user groups.

What’s new?

  • Central default settings for full-text search in the admin area
  • New, understandable search modes: “Any words” and “All words” (instead of “Natural language search”)
  • Settings apply across Windows clients and Web Gateway.
  • Users can still override the settings in the advanced search dialogue if necessary
  • Optional: specific defaults per folder (e.g., SSP/end user vs. power user)
  • Protection against misconfiguration: Incompatible options are prevented or clearly reported.

More intuitive search with global wildcard setting

With a new global property, OMNITRACKER can automatically interpret search terms as partial word searches—without users having to type in wildcards (*).
